I want to leave you with a quote from a book of photos of
the emerging punk scene from the late 70’s on thru the late 80’s through the
eyes of the photographers.
“Alexander was a great punk, Genghis Khan, Attila, Henry the
Eighth, Napoleon, Mozart, Elvis were all punks of their time. My grandfather
told me that ‘a punk is camel shit on a stick that is used to light fireworks’.
Punk is more than an attitude, it is a philosophy. One
cannot become a punk by design. Punks are born, not made. You cannot call
yourself a punk, it is a impression you leave with somebody else. Calling
someone else a punk used to be derogatory or inflammatory. It has become a term
of respect for an independent, anarchistic lifestyle roughly associated with a
musical style and peripheral lifestyle.”
Yep.
